Franklin Educated
In our schools, education is student-centered and innovative and learners are inspired to become great! We offer students and their families a comprehensive education experience that features:

What to Know
Enrollment
New students should present as many of the following as possible:
- Birth certificate.
- Proof of residency.
- Unofficial copy of the transcript and correct name, address, and phone number of previous school and accreditation information.
- Health/Immunization records. (Note: These records are required before students may attend class.)
- Any pertinent background on curriculum from the previous school (i.e., texts used, course description book from previous school, information helpful in correlating correct placement in courses here).
- Special testing information and/or psychological background (if applicable).
- Sports eligibility information (if applicable).
Students may also expect to take placement exams if needed to determine the correct level of placement. Students entering without one or more of the necessary items listed above may be asked to sign a waiver based on verbal information given to the receiving counselor.
If you live outside of the Franklin Community Schools' boundaries and would like your child to attend Franklin Community Schools, please complete and submit the Transfer Tuition Application.

Once you have filled out the form, mail it to the address on the application.
The following information will be needed when registering your child online:
- Proof of residency (utility bill, telephone bill, bank statement, rental/lease agreement, etc., that is dated within 60 days of registration and shows your home address).
- Student’s birth certificate (incoming Kindergarten students must turn 5 on or before August 1) .
- Student’s immunization records
2024-2025 Required and Recommended School Immunizations.
Children entering kindergarten are encouraged to demonstrate success in these skills.
FIND YOUR SCHOOL
Our Cub Academy offers preschool learning services for children ages 3-5. Learning experiences include problem-solving, decision-making, creative work and cooperation.
Franklin Community Schools partners with the Boys and Girls Club of Franklin to offer before and after-school care for elementary and intermediate school students.
This is a perfect option for families who may need safe reliable care at your child's elementary or intermediate school throughout the school year.
The fee for our before and after school program is $5 per session and billed weekly.

We improve lives and livelihoods by delivering tested and trusted educational resources. Our focus is on providing educational programming and resources in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Human and Health Sciences, Economic and Community Development and 4-H Youth Development. We work with various partners, agencies, schools and community programs to make Johnson County the place we call home.
Central Nine is a public school that offers a wide variety of programs designed to provide education and training that meets today’s business, industry and college requirements. Central Nine programs stress academic achievement and technical skill attainment since each of these is invaluable. Central Nine Career Center is affiliated with nine area high schools.
Discover Downtown Inc. works to preserve and promote the businesses and support the city's effort to make the downtown beautiful and inviting.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnson County enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens by providing quality programming to the youth of Johnson County that focuses on education, the arts, technology, health and physical fitness in a safe and positive environment.
The Franklin Education Connection is a blend of the Franklin Education Foundation and Franklin Study Connection.
The parks and recreation department manages the parks, facilities and cultural and entertainment programs for the city.
