Needham Elementary School l Franklin, IndianaNeedham Elementary School serves more than 500 students from Grades K-4. One of five elementary schools in the Franklin Community Schools system, we offer a broad and comprehensive understanding of knowledge and skills based on the Indiana Academic State Standards. These standards provide the master plan for learning.

Students receive a balance of learning experiences in the academic areas of English language arts, mathematics, social studies and citizenship, visual arts and music, health and wellness and physical education, adapted as necessary.

They also learn to use technology to solve problems related to home, school, community and workplace; and develop skills useful in performing individual and family responsibilities - preparing them for success in middle school.

Dylan Purlee l Needham Elementary SchoolI am proudly serving in my 8th year as the principal of Needham Elementary School. During my educational career, I have been a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal and principal before joining Franklin Community Schools. 

I also coached the girls' varsity golf team for 10 years while in Whiteland.  

My wife, Megan is a 3rd-grade teacher at Spurnica in Brown County and we have a son, Rilan, who is funny,  energetic and loves farming! 

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Franklin College (‘04), Master's Degree from Indiana University (‘07) and I am currently working on my Doctorate of Philosophy from Indiana State University. 

My mission is to serve, encourage and support my family, my school, and my friends to make today’s tomorrow better!
