NORTHWOOD
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Franklin, Indiana
Home of the Owls
Northwood Elementary School serves more than 500 students from Grades K-4. One of five elementary schools in the Franklin Community Schools system, we offer a broad and comprehensive understanding of knowledge and skills based on the Indiana Academic State Standards. These standards provide the master plan for learning.
Students receive a balance of learning experiences in the academic areas of English language arts, mathematics, social studies and citizenship, visual arts and music, health and wellness and physical education, adapted as necessary.
They also learn to use technology to solve problems related to home, school, community and workplace; and develop skills useful in performing individual and family responsibilities - preparing them for success in middle school.

Please check out our school page and the Franklin Community Schools website for information and continued updates.
We also utilize ParentSquare to push out communication and will often post on our school's Facebook page as well. You can expect to get weekly newsletters from your child's teacher, and monthly school newsletters. We are committed to our school motto, "Work Hard, Be Nice," and our staff and students demonstrate each and every day.
In addition to our fantastic classroom teachers, we are also privileged to have an Assistant Principal, full-time counselor, behavioral interventionist, instructional coach, special education teachers, several instructional assistants and other staff to support our incredible students. Please let us know how we can help. We look forward to a great school year!
