Superintendent

Dr. David Clendening

As a life-long Hoosier and educator, Dr. Clendening has served in many different roles:  teacher, assistant principal, principal, executive director and superintendent.  Before joining FCS is 2009, he served in Goshen as a middle school Assistant Principal, Principal and Executive Director for Elementary Education and Public Relations. Each position provided him with outstanding experiences; and these experiences helped to mold his thoughts, ideas and vision for leading a growing school district.

He was named Indiana School Superintendent of the Year in 2022.

Dr. Clendening holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, a Master's Degree from Butler University, and an Education Specialist and Doctorate of Philosophy from Indiana State University.

Dr. Clendening is an active member of the community having served on many boards and committees including the Boys and Girls Club and the Franklin Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Franklin Rotary.
