ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Franklin, Indiana
Home of the Cougars
Creekside Elementary School serves more than 500 students from Grades K-4. One of five elementary schools in the Franklin Community Schools system, we offer a broad and comprehensive understanding of knowledge and skills based on the Indiana Academic State Standards. These standards provide the master plan for learning.
Students receive a balance of learning experiences in the academic areas of English language arts, mathematics, social studies and citizenship, visual arts and music, health and wellness and physical education, adapted as necessary.
They also learn to use technology to solve problems related to home, school, community and workplace; and develop skills useful in performing individual and family responsibilities - preparing them for success in middle school.

Welcome to Creekside Elementary School, a part of the Franklin Community Schools, where We Are Family is more than just our motto, it is the way we work for our students every day!
Creekside Elementary School serves approximately 500 students from preschool through 4th Grade. The Indiana Department of Education has awarded Creekside with an 'A' school letter grade four school years out of the past six. Construction was finished on Creekside in the summer of 1998 and we opened our doors to students that fall.
Creekside is a school that serves all students' needs, including general education classrooms, special education programming, high ability/gifted and talented education, Response to Intervention programming in literacy and math, ELL (English Language Learners), speech and communication programming, physical and occupational therapies, music, art, physical education, library class and media center services, STEM instruction, a sensory room, full-day Kindergarten and developmental preschool.
We are a two-time Indiana Gold Star Counseling school and a national ASCA RAMP Award winner because of the school counseling services we provide our students. We support our military families and students and have received a Purple Star designation from the IDOE. Creekside is also home to a Globals-reaching Destination Imagination team and a state-champion Science Bowl team as well as other incredible student clubs and academic teams!
Creekside is a great place for kids because of our talented and dedicated teachers and staff. I hope you will stop in or give us a call if you'd like more information about our excellent school.

During the school year, your child's teacher will communicate at least weekly, and sometimes more often, with timely information. Our teachers use our ParentSquare communication system to communicate with you. Please download the ParentSquare app to your smartphone to allow the system to work very easily for you, and so that you can set your notification preferences. If you aren't receiving communication from your child's teacher, please make sure that your contact information is up-to-date in our school office.
The best way to contact your child's teacher is by email or a phone call. Feel free to email your child's teacher and expect a response the same or next school day. You can also call their school phone number (or our main line and we will forward you) and leave a message. Teachers normally don't answer the phone during the school day because they are teaching. But, they will call you back.
As a parent if you feel disconnected from our school, or that you don't have the information that you need, please let your child's teacher know, or contact our principal, Dr. Heiden.
We welcome guests to lunch with their Creekside Cougar!
Please use the form to make a reservation for lunch with your child. There are guidelines in the form that help our lunch arrivals go smoothly and make sure that everyone enjoys the lunch date! Please keep your group from two to four adults at the most so that your lunch with your child will still allow for other student lunches as well.
See you soon at lunch!
