Steve Ahaus Named Next Chief Financial Officer at Franklin Community Schools

Franklin Community Schools is pleased to announce that Steve Ahaus has been named the district’s new Chief Financial Officer. The FCS Board of School Trustees approved the recommendation at its September 8 meeting.

Ahaus brings more than 25 years of experience in Franklin Schools, serving as a teacher, coach and administrator. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Marian University, a master’s in educational administration and supervision from Ball State University, and will complete an education specialist degree in educational leadership from Ball State University in the fall of 2026.

A trained Six Sigma professional, Ahaus is recognized as a systemic thinker who has led numerous projects at both Franklin Community Middle School and Franklin Community High School to improve efficiency and student outcomes.

“After 25 years of serving Franklin Schools and the community in the classroom and as an administrator, I am excited about this new opportunity,” Ahaus said. “I’ve been blessed to spend my entire career in Franklin and to watch the tremendous growth of both the city and our schools. I look forward to contributing to that continued progress and ensuring that Franklin Schools remain a place where students thrive and families are proud to call home.”

Superintendent Dr. David Clendening praised Ahaus’s leadership and vision. “Steve is a proven leader in our district. His experience in education, paired with his deep understanding of Franklin’s culture, makes him an ideal choice for this role. His knowledge of Six Sigma and his collaborative approach will be tremendous assets as we move forward with strategic planning, fiscal responsibility, and continued growth in our schools.”

Ahaus will officially transition into his new role on November 1 to begin training and will succeed Tina Jobe, who is retiring at the end of the school year. In addition, Franklin Community High School Associate Principal Ryan Wagner will serve as Interim Principal for the remainder of the school year.
